Announcing the Launch of ANSTIP
Asian Network for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy
Asian countries' economic growth, international competitiveness,
and contribution to global society depend on their development of
knowledge-based economies built on Science & Technology.
Appropriate STI policies informed by knowledge of one's own
and other countries can do much to promote this development.
Currently, however, the STI statistics, activities, and policies of
the region's countries are very difficult to access comprehensively
and compare meaningfully.
ANSTIP is an open-access infrastructure that aims to solve this
problem by compiling and making freely available internationally
comparable STI information.
Anyone can access ANSTIP to find information on the STI activities
and policies of various Asian countries. And all are invited to contribute
to the evolution of ANSTIP by introducing country data or presenting
analyses from a new viewpoint.
ANSTIP activities:
- - To build and maintain an information network on the activities and policies of Asian countries;
- - To build online links among organizations concerned with STI policy and research;
- - To build a database on STI activities and policies;
- - To hold international workshops;
- - To publish periodic reports on Asian STI indicators and policy outlooks.
